The
Faithfulness of God
Have you ever meditated on the faithfulness and righteousness
of God? Psalm 36:1-9 reminds us that His faithfulness is endless
- "it reacheth unto the clouds." His "righteousness
is like the great mountains" - it cannot be moved. His lovingkindness
is "excellent." Therefore - "the children of men
put their trust under the shadow of thy wings." When we experience
the presence of the shadow of God, we are very close to Him. What
a blessing to know that when we trust in Him, we are trusting in
a very "big" God, one who excels all! We will be "abundantly
satisfied with the fatness of thy house."
The other choice is to indulge in the sinfulness of
man's heart - "no fear of God before his eyes:" "flattereth
himself in his own eyes;" "words of his mouth are iniquity;"
"deviseth mischief;" and "setteth himself in a way
that is not good;" and "abhorreth not evil." Praise
God for delivering us from the awfulness of sin through the blood
of Jesus Christ. Have you received Him as your personal Savior?
He died for you. Trust in Him and be saved! "For with thee
is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light."
Without God, you are in darkness. Proverbs 4:19 says, "The
way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble."
What a blessing to know that in Christ "there is no darkness
at all."
(1 John 1:5) "Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that
obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and
hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon
his God." (Isaiah 50:10).
If you have accepted Christ and His payment for your
sin, then ask God to help you be faithful as you daily purpose to
"abide under the shadow of the Almighty." (Ps.91:1 tells
us that it begins with "dwelling in the secret place of the
most High") Spend time with God today and remember, we either
follow God who is faithful or self that deceives and causes us to
make foolish choices that turn us away from God.
